Parking – Volunteers working on the Sparrow Hospital main campus have parking privileges in the Sparrow Hospital parking deck on floors 4, 5 and 6.

Volunteers show the attendant their Sparrow badge as they exit the parking ramp to receive complimentary parking.

In the event that a Volunteer leaves after dark, an escort service is available when requested from the Security Department. Call x42000 for help.

Flu shots/TB skin tests - No charge

Continuing Education - Volunteers are encouraged to attend Volunteer educational meetings, hospital educational seminars and attend many Sparrow activities.

Income tax deductions – Obtain advice from a tax professional. 

SPA Discounts - Volunteers are encouraged to visit our SPA at the main campus which offers many services including a “Show Your Badge and Save” discount program which includes Volunteers.

Hospital Care - Volunteers receiving outpatient or inpatient services at Sparrow (exclusive of physician services) shall be given a 20% discount on billings not paid by the Volunteer's insurance.  Discounts are not applied to co-payments or deductibles.*

Prescriptions - Volunteers may have prescriptions filled at Sparrow Hospital pharmacies and Pharmacy Plus at a discount of: cost plus 10%, plus a $5.00 dispensing fee.*

Medical Merchandise - Volunteers may receive a 20% discount on purchases not covered by insurance at Sparrow Regional Medical Supply and Pharmacy Plus stores. *

Sparrow Home Care Network – Volunteers may receive a 20% discount on services provided by Sparrow Home Care Network including private duty services.*

Michigan Athletic Club (MAC) - Membership discounts are available for Volunteers at the MAC.  *

Sparrow Fitness Centers  - Volunteers are eligible to become members of the Sparrow Fitness Centers at the same rate as associates. They are located on the Sparrow and St. Lawrence Campuses.*

Special Events and Promotions sponsored by SHS - Volunteers may receive discounts for these events and promotions.

Note:

To receive the discounts for items marked with an *, a Volunteer shall obtain documentation from the Volunteer Services Department authorizing that she/he is a Volunteer in good standing.

Volunteer discounts cannot be used in combination with other discounts available. For those Volunteers who are also care givers, employee discounts take precedence over Volunteer discounts. 

Retroactive applications of this discount policy will not be made if the Volunteer, at the time of purchase or service, was not a member in good standing. 

Discounts apply to Volunteers in good standing, and do not include family members or relatives of Volunteers.
