Christine Thwaites is persistent about advocating for her home care Patients, those who require continuing treatment in their home.
For Thwaites, the job is more than about changing a Patient's dressings or making sure their feeding tube is working properly. It's about comforting them, contacting a Physician for a Patient, taking the time to work until a Patient's issues are resolved.
In her own words, she's learned "how to go to bat for Patients."
"I love home care," Thwaites says. "I feel a responsibility to these Patients. I see them in a much more personal setting. You get a feel for who they are, how vulnerable they are. I really feel like I make a difference."
