General Visitor Guidelines
General visiting hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
Visitor Check-in Procedure
Before proceeding into patient areas of the hospital, all guests must obtain a visitor badge from the information desk in the main lobby. The visitor badge outlines a guest’s reason for visiting the hospital and helps increase hospital safety while providing clarity to Sparrow Caregivers.
Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
Visiting hours are 6-8 p.m. on weekdays and 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on weekends and holidays
Emergency Room Visitors
There is a limit of two visitors at a patient’s bedside. Children are discouraged from visiting.
Geriatric Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
Visiting hours are 4:30-7 p.m on weekdays and 12:30-7 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Families are welcome 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other visitors may visit any time they are given permission by the patient.
Intensive Care Unit/Cardiac Intensive Care Unit
Immediate family members or a significant other are allowed any time. Only two visitors are permitted at a time. There is no visitation from 7-8:30 a.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. No flowers or live plants are allowed.
Family may visit any time. Visiting hours for others: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., 5-8 p.m.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
Immediate family members are allowed anytime. Only two visitors are permitted at a time. There is no visitation from 7-8:30 a.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. No flowers or live plants are allowed.
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
Parents may visit anytime. Other visitors are allowed from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Parents may visit any time. Others must follow general visitation hours. Visitors under age 12 are prohibited.
Sparrow Specialty Hospital
General visiting hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m. daily. Only two visitors are permitted at a time. Visitation hours may be modified due to individual patient needs. Children under age 14 are not encouraged to visit Sparrow Specialty Hospital. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
