Sparrow opens two injury clinics for athletes
With the start of the high school sports season, two clinics will soon open to help community and student athletes deal with athletic injuries.
Sparrow Sports Medicine will again be providing a free Saturday morning injury clinic to student athletes injured during the week’s sports activities. The clinic provides services to help keep high school and community athletes healthy, including injury treatment, personalized home treatment plan instructions and referrals to Sparrow orthopedic surgeons as needed.
The clinic is held 9-11:30 a.m. every Saturday until Dec. 7 (except Nov. 30) at the Sparrow Health Science Pavilion, Suite B102 (adjacent to the Michigan Athletic Club), 2900 Hannah Blvd., East Lansing.
No appointment is necessary and athletes should bring their insurance information to the clinic.
As a new perk for MAC members, an Adult Injury Clinic will be offered from 6-7:30 p.m. the second Monday of each month through May. The clinic is complementary to membership and is not open to the public.
Sparrow Michigan Athletic Club personal trainers and a team of orthopedic specialists from Mid-Michigan Physicians will be available to evaluate members’ injuries and help get them back on track.
