Caring for the spiritual needs of our patients is the central priority of the Pastoral Care Department at Sparrow Health System. We believe treating people with dignity and respect and tending to their needs, mandates caring for them spiritually. Hence, the values promoted by the Association of Professional Chaplains and embraced by the Department of Pastoral Care: "The spiritual dimension of a person is an essential part of an individual's striving for health and meaning in life." And "The spiritual care of persons is a critical aspect of the total care offered".
