Why CARES is right for your business?

Quick Links:

In today's high-pressure, fast-paced world, problems are inevitable. And when personal problems become severe, they tend to surface in the workplace, taking the form of absenteeism, accidents, poor workmanship, tardiness, apathy, hostility and low morale.

CARES-EAP has been providing Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services throughout the United States since 1980. As one of the region's leading healthcare providers, Sparrow offers companies an unmatched combination of skill, experience, accessibility and economy. Depending on your company's needs and preferences, EAP services can be customized to include any or all of the following:

CARES-EAP Services Provided at No Additional Cost

  • Assessment by MSW/MA level therapist with extensive mental health background
  • Up to 8 counseling sessions per household per calendar year
  • Referrals to professionals who accept the employee's insurance carrier or provide cost-effective behavioral health services
  • 24-hour availability. During non-business hours our answering service will contact an on-call therapist to provide immediate assistance with emergencies

Short-Term Counseling & Referrals

  • The majority of issues are resolved by EAP counselors through short-term counseling sessions.
  • These services are completely confidential and provided at no cost to the employee.
  • If indicated, the counselor will refer an employee or family member to the most appropriate or cost-effective treatment option.

Professional Consultation
A manager, supervisor, or Union representative may need help in dealing with a troubled employee or handling a difficult situation. In such cases, the EAP is readily available for telephone or worksite consultations.

Program Design & Development

  • An EAP professional works directly with employers and organized bargaining units to develop policies and procedures that align your company's specific goals and practices.
  • EAP consultants also are available to help develop policies for establishing a drug-free workplace and handling substance abuse violations on the job.
