Patients may be admitted to our service directly, by calling the Sparrow Hospital Operator at 517.364.1000 and asking for the pediatric hospitalist on call.

The Sparrow Hospital Inpatient Pediatric Service (SHIPS) is the pediatric hospitalist program for Sparrow Hospital. It began in September 2005 and is staffed by three board certified full-time pediatricians.

We provide comprehensive inpatient care to children hospitalized at Sparrow on the general (acute care) pediatric floor, as well as supervising the pediatric and family practice residents during their inpatient pediatric rotations.
