Whyman Health Careers Scholarships
Dear Prospective Whyman Scholarship Applicant:
The Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation and its Committee Members serves to advance the efforts of Clinton Memorial Hospital in Saint Johns in providing total health care services for Clinton County residents. One of its prime responsibilities is overseeing the distribution of charitable contributions made in support of hospital services.
Merten and Geraldine Whyman Health Careers Scholarships are available as a result of a generous bequest made by the Whymans to Clinton Memorial Hospital. Due to the success of the program, other contributions have been made allowing the tradition of offering these scholarships to continue. The Whyman Endowment Fund is used for distribution to county residents pursuing an education/training (including certificate or tech programs) in a health related field. Since its inception in 1987, many area students from throughout Clinton County have benefited from this generosity.

Please read the guidelines carefully for recent revisions. Consideration will be given to all county residents who have shown evidence of acceptable academic achievement and interest in pursuing a health career. Having met these criteria, the Scholarship Selection Committee will make its choices based on information provided by the student, references, community involvement, leadership, work experience and financial need.
Scholarships will be provided on an annual basis. Students will be able to apply for the Whyman Scholarship more than one year. Previous Whyman scholarship winners will be able to apply but the other applicants will get first recognition. The scholarship may be used for tuition, books or fees.
Sincerely,
Merten and Geraldine Whyman Scholarship Selection Committee,
Chairperson, Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation,
President, Clinton Memorial Hospital Foundation,
Superintendent of Schools
