Come join our dance academy for a fun-filled movement experience! We combine an art form with exercise to help one understand the true beauty of self-expression and nonverbal communication. The dance academy offers an extensive variety of dance classes to meet your interests. If you’ve wanted to dance but have been hesitant please come to our open house week and find the best class for you!

Adult classesBallet 102
Introduction to Ballet.  Concentrate on barre work, ballet terms and explore beginning ballet combinations in the center while improving posture, muscle strength and flexibility. Handouts provided for this class.

Ballet 201
Study this fundamental dance form in a safe and nurturing environment.  Ballet will help enhance your grace, fluidity, flexibility, muscle and memory.  This is a great class for cross training in many sports also.  Ballet 101 and 102 strongly recommended.

Salsa 101
Learn the fundamental footwork of the most beloved Latin dance in America! This LA style of Salsa is fun to dance to and anyone can learn! Outstanding music makes it difficult to keep your feet still! Partners encouraged but not required. 

Tap 202 Refresher Classes!
This class will meet once a month to review tap concepts, across the floor combinations, short routines and for good exercise.

Ballroom Dance ClassesEast Coast Swing 103
This class expands on the material learned in level 101. Continue to work on the Bronze level material and begin to work on Silver level. Successful completion of East Coast Swing 101 is required to participate in this class along with instructor approval. 

Foxtrot 103
This class expands on the material learned in level 101. Improve on material learned in level 101 and also add a third line of dance. Successful completion of Foxtrot 101 is required to participate in this class along with instructor approval.  

Nightclub 2Step 103
This class expands on the material learned in level 101. Continue learning fun patterns of dance. Successful completion of  Level 101 is required to participate in this class along with instructor approval.  

Rhumba 101
Students will work on mastering some of the dance element of the Bronze level syllabus. This very popular Latin dance is one of the major ballroom dances and many of the dance moves work in the Cha Cha and other forms of dance. No prior dance experience required for participation in this class. 

West Coast Swing 101

Now one of the most popular forms of Swing dance, the West Coast Swing has swept through the US.  Slow and elegant or fast and furious this class will be sure to reach your dance expectations. No prior dance experience required.

West Coast Swing 103
This class expands on material learned in level 101. Work on the final basic dance elements and add in fun patterns. Successful completion of West Coast Swing 101 required along with instructor approval for participation in this class. 

Ballroom Dance Party

Here's your chance to meet and mingle with dance students from the MAC and around town!  Practice dance steps learned in class and put them to practical use.  With a ballroom instructor on hand you can dance the night away but also ask questions and receive coaching if you wish.  Soft drinks and cookies provided.

   When: Saturday, June 3; 6pm - 9pm

Youth class
Dance Me A Story
Introduce your 3-6 year old child to the world of movement and dance through the magic of storytelling.  This class uses a collection of popular children's stories, props, and imagination to captivate your dancer.  Listening skills, following directions and movement connectivity are practiced in this class. Dancers must be fully potty trained.
