Why Take Prenatal Classes?

Quick Links:

Whether you are eagerly anticipating and planning for your baby’s birth, or you are full of questions and concerns about labor and delivery, you will benefit from prenatal education classes. For first-time parents, childbirth is a great leap into the unknown. You can read about it, watch videos, fantasize about it, visualize it, and hear all your friend’s and family’s stories.

However, until you actually experience birth and parenthood it is hard to imagine. For this reason, prenatal classes are invaluable. In class, surrounded by other expectant couples, you get to share thoughts and ideas, and really focus on learning what to expect, what your options are, and how to cope to reduce discomfort and complications.

With the Expectant Parents Organization (EPO), you may choose from a wide variety of programs offered in many locations throughout the tri-county area. All EPO classes are taught by registered nurses and will help prepare you for pregnancy, childbirth and caring for your new baby. For detailed information about topics covered in each program, click on the program name from the Programs page of our web site. You can also register online.
