What you need to know about H1N1
By now, you've probably heard of H1N1, the new strain of flu also known as swine flu. You've probably seen a lot of stories on the news about it, and you might be getting concerned about what it means to you and your family.
Sparrow has put together an online flu kit to help answer some of the questions you may have. This kit is designed for informational purposes only and should not replace the advice of a medical professional.
Please click on the following links for additional information (you may also use the menu to the left).
To help prevent the spread of H1N1, Sparrow is recommending that children 16 and under not visit patients in the hospital. Sparrow has also implemented the following visitation policies:
- Visitors to Labor and Delivery, OB Triage, OB Special Care, and the Mother- Baby Center will be limited to a patient’s well husband, significant other or support person, and well grandparents of the newborn.
- Regional Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit (RNICU) visitation will be limited to well parents and grandparents of the newborn.
- Pediatrics and Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit visitation will be limited to well parents and well grandparents only.
- No children will be allowed on any of the above units.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for your assistance in helping to keep all our patients safe.
