The Philanthropist League

The Philanthropist League of Sparrow Foundation has been developed to meet the immediate and long-range financial needs and challenges of providing quality, compassionate and cost-effective health care to the residents of mid-Michigan.

To honor the many caring individuals and businesses who have helped Sparrow Health System through generous gifts of time, talent and treasure, the Sparrow Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of The Philanthropist League. The Philanthropist League is for those who believe it is imperative for Sparrow to continue providing the highest quality of care of the people of mid-Michigan.

Qualifications for Membership

Visionary

• An outright contribution or pledge of $100,000 or more for a period of 10 years; or
• Cumulative gifts totaling $1,000,000 or more; or
• An outright gift or pledge of $1,000,000 (gifts may be made in cash, marketable securities or property).

Steward

• An outright contribution or pledge of $50,000 or more for a period of 10 years; or
• Cumulative gifts totaling $500,000 or more; or
• An outright gift or pledge of $500,000 (gifts may be made in cash, marketable securities or property).

Ambassador

• An outright contribution or pledge of $10,000 or more for a period of 10 years; or
• Cumulative gifts totaling $100,000 or more; or
• An outright gift or pledge of $100,000 (gifts may be made in cash, marketable securities or property).

Altruist

• An outright contribution or pledge of $5,000 or more for a period or 10 years; or
• Cumulative gifts totaling $50,000 or more; or
• An outright gift or pledge of $50,000 (gifts may be made in cash, marketable securities or property).

Investor

• An outright contribution or pledge of $1,000 or more for a period of 10 years; or
• Cumulative gifts totaling $10,000 or more; or
• An outright gift or pledge of $10,000 (gifts may be made in cash, marketable securities or property).

Membership Benefits

The primary benefit of being a member of The Philanthropist League is the knowledge that your gifts are making a positive difference in the lives of the people of mid-Michigan. You have the personal satisfaction of being part of a special group of Sparrow Foundation supporters whose gifts are vital to Sparrow’s mission of providing quality, compassionate and cost-effective health care services.

All gifts to The Philanthropist League, of more than $10,000 outright or cumulative, will be publicly acknowledged by the Sparrow Foundation on the “Wall of Honor.”

Attend special events, activities and programs including:

• Speakers from within the Sparrow family and beyond who will address relevant issues in health care;
• Up-to-date reports from the Sparrow Health System President and Sparrow’s medical staff concerning developments in patient care, education and research;
• Personal invitations to Children’s Miracle Network and other Foundation events at Sparrow, and throughout the Greater Lansing area;
• Subscription to the Sparrow Magazine; and
• Association with the other members of The Philanthropist League.
