The Sparrow Home Care Network's (SHCN) Maternal/Child program is committed to protecting one of our community's most valuable assets - its children. With the team of highly skilled home health
professionals experienced in neonatal, pediatric intensive care, mother-baby, and general pediatrics, the maternal/child program is ready to assist patients when the need arises.
Our program offers a full range of services that continues to grow and develop, while fulfilling our mission. The ultimate purpose and goal of SHCN services is to assist the patient and family
in becoming as independent as possible.

Receiving specialized Maternal/Child care in the home gives mothers, children, and infants the emotional edge that the security of familiar surroundings
and the presence of family members can provide.
Maternal/Child home health care offers many benefits:

capably assist with their child's health care

the hospital to the home
Let us help make this experience one of comfort to you. We offer compassionate, quality, and supportive services for you,
your child and your loved ones, with on call coverage available 24 hours a day, seven days per week for emergency calls.
Services provided include but are not limited to the following:
- Observation and evaluation
- Teaching and training the patient and/or
family may be taught to perform certain procedures or treatments
- Treatment of wounds, incisions, and burns
- Administration of injections, intravenous
therapy, and medications requiring supervision
- Reinforcement of teaching related to peripheral
and central line care
- Monitoring vital signs, oxygen therapy, aerosol
treatments, and infant feeding issues
- Home environmental evaluation/assessment for
patients frequently admitted to the hospital
- Pediatric asthma management
- Administration of home photo therapy
- Inserting and or replacing drainage tubes,
catheters, and nasal/oral gastric tubes
- Prenatal and post partum assessment for
high-risk mothers
- Failure to thrive diagnosis
- Breast feeding assistance
- Hyperemesis and hypertension disorders
- Assessment of mother-baby and premature/high
risk infants after delivery/discharge
- Diabetes management
- Observation and teaching regarding
special duties or gavage feedings
To qualify for Sparrow's Maternal/Child services the patient must be under a physician's care and require skilled,
part-time intermittent care. Types of insurances accepted include but are not limited to the following assuming payer guidelines are followed:

Physician Health Plan
Sparrow Physicians Health Plan (SPHN)
Private Pay
