Sparrow Hospice Services
Sparrow Hospice Services offers three hospice programs that provide care in a home setting: Carson Home Hospice,
Clinton Home Hospice and Sparrow Home Hospice; and one that provides care in an inpatient facility at
the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. Sparrow Hospice Services also has multiple contracts with nursing homes
throughout the mid-Michigan area to provide hospice care for their residents.
The three home hospice programs have been designed for terminally ill persons who wish to spend their remaining
life in their home. Hospice House of Mid-Michigan is an alternative to
home hospice and provides care to terminally ill persons unable to be cared for in a home setting.
The home hospice programs serve the areas of Lansing, St. Johns and Carson City,
which include the following counties: Ingham, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Montcalm,
and parts of Ionia, Jackson and Shiawassee. Each is affiliated with a different
Sparrow Health System hospital - Sparrow Hospital,
Clinton Memorial Hospital and
Carson City Hospital.

No job is too big or too small for the hospice team - we help in every way we can.
This may include:
- Pain relief through medication
- Back rubs and foot massages
- Matters of personal cleanliness and coordination of necessary medical equipment
- "Being there" to let the patient know he or she is not alone
- Talking openly about feelings
- Assisting with household chores and helping to put financial matters in order
- Providing favorite foods or music
- Joining in favorite pastimes
Though hospice professionals and volunteers are there to help, they encourage patients to be as active and to do
as much for themselves as possible.
