What are the minimum requirements?
You must be currently enrolled in nursing school with successful completion of an approved Med/Surg clinical (hospital acute care clinical) rotation.
What are the duties of a nurse extern?
The Nurse Extern provides basic patient care and performs specific procedures with patients. The Nurse Extern works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
What department can I work in?
You will be assigned one department based on availability and interview with committee.
How much will I earn?
$12.04/hr plus shift premiums for odd shifts.
How many hours will I work?
Students will be hired Per Diem and the hours will depend on the needs of the department. Schedules may vary.
When will interviews be conducted?
Interviews will be conducted in the month of March.
How long is the program?
The program begins on May 16th and runs through mid August 2008.
