Amie has been instructing Yoga Level 1 and 2 since 2002 with a focus on fitness and the physical nature of the poses. She has Aerobic & Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Primary Group Fitness and YogaFit certification and has participated in additional yoga training through AFAA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Michigan State University. Yoga was a natural progression for her following years as a cheerleader, gymnast, and dancer. Yoga helps her keep her balance and flexibility and has provided relief from back pain. Amie has taught at the MAC for seven years.
Shelley Cichy
Shelley has been teaching an athletic style of yoga since 2001. Her classes emphasize an eclectic, power yoga practice as an excellent way to build strength, flexibility, endurance, balance, and concentration. She completed her instructor training program through YogaFit® Worldwide Fitness Systems and continues learning with two local yoga teachers. She began practicing yoga to complement her running, swimming, cycling and weight training routine. Shelley has taught at the MAC for five years.
Diane DelBuono
Diane has been teaching yoga since 2001 and completed her Yoga Alliance training program in 2007. She teaches a gentle style designed for students at all levels. For many years she taught fitness classes while she worked as an university administrator. When her work shifted to helping people discover their emotional wellness, yoga became the perfect complement. Diane has been teaching at the MAC for three years.
Vickey Fabbo
Vickey has been leading yoga practices since 2001. Her classes focus on strength, balance, core stability, body awareness and practicing in the present moment. Vickey completed her teacher training program through YogaFit and continues to grow her practice by studying Baron Baptiste power yoga. Vickey is also certified as a Personal Trainer through NASM.
Sandy Joslin
Sandy earned her YogaFit certificate in 2007. Her classes focus on a blend of traditional yoga poses and fitness moves designed to raise the heart rate and increase muscle tone and flexibility. As an experienced runner and cyclist, Sandy has found that the addition of yoga to her routine has helped develop new muscles and shortened recovery time from running and cycling. Sandy has taught at the MAC for 10 years.
Cathy Kiernan
Cathy has been teaching since 2007. She teaches yoga focused on alignment, spending more time on poses and learning to do them properly. She enjoys using blankets, blocks, and straps to help students move beyond their physical limitations while doing poses. She started practicing yoga eight years ago after injuring her back. Cathy then received 500 hours of teacher training and is registered with Yoga Alliance.
Steve McCornack
Steve has been practicing yoga for six years. He has trained in Karate for 27 years and is a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shido-Kan. Yoga was a calming complement to his intense martial arts practice. The more involved he became in yoga, the more he realized its enormous physical and mental benefits, so yoga has become his primary fitness focus. Steve has been at the MAC for four years.
Deb Popp
Deb has been teaching yoga on and off for years. Her classes focus on stretching and relaxation and are challenging, but not athletic. She received training at YogaFit and continues to learn as she teaches and through her own meditative practice. Deb has taught at the MAC for 13 years.
Tara Scott
Tara received her 200-hour certification in the tradition of Hatha yoga and is nationally registered with Yoga Alliance. She considers her training in this healing art to be an extension of her life-long inquiry into human relations and communications. Her approach to teaching honors the joyful and contemplative spirit of yoga while emphasizing the development of postural alignment, breath awareness, and safe transitions through sequences.
Christine Tolfree
Christine began practicing yoga eight years ago and has been teaching yoga since 2001. She teaches an energetic class, combining strict alignment with fluidity to challenge her clients physically, mentally, and spiritually. She has completed her power yoga apprenticeship and is currently finishing her 300-hour training. Christine has been at the MAC for six years.
Susan Tons
Sue has been teaching for four years. Her yoga classes emphasize form while offering modifications to members with physical challenges. She did her initial teacher training with YogaFit and completed additional trainings at the Kripalu Center specializing in courses for yoga health professionals. She enjoys incorporating her professional rehabilitation background into her teaching. She was drawn to yoga as a way to maintain balance in her life — reducing stress while providing the physical benefits of flexibility, strength and balance. Susan has been teaching at the MAC for four years.
Annie Topie
Annie began practicing yoga six years ago. She recently completed a 200-hour power yoga teacher training and is currently finishing her 300-hour training. She has also completed teacher training workshops and master classes with some of the most respected power yogis in the world. Through her exposure to these teachers, she brings a unique perspective to teaching power yoga holistically — mind, body and spirit. Her energetic class, combines strict alignment with fluidity. This is Annie’s first year teaching at the MAC.
Shiloh Wint
Shiloh Wint is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor traditionally trained through Hilltop Yoga with Hilaire Lockwood-O’Day. She has also attended classes and workshops with renowned yoga instructors such as Beryl Bender Birch, Bryan Kest, David Life, Jonny Kest, Aadil Palkhivala, Lee Ann Louis-Prescott and Rolf Gates. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Michigan State University with a specialization in Health Promotion and a cognate in Sports Psychology. Her goal for teaching is to provide a safe class with a sequence that is intuitively geared towards needs of the student, instilling a setting of non-competition and non-judgment in class. Rachelle Woodbury
Rachelle has been teaching since 2002. She offers a challenging class with modifications for all levels. She is certified with ACE Fitness as a Group Exercise teacher and has completed workshops with several renowned yogis. Rachelle believes yoga is an excellent cross training and life-enhancing exercise for all types of athletes and active people. She has practiced power yoga for seven years. This is Rachelle’s first year teaching at the MAC.
