Sparrow Hospital has earned the nation’s most prestigious honor for nursing achievement and excellence: Magnet Designation. Considered the “gold standard” for nursing care in hospitals, Magnet status is held by only about six percent of American Hospitals.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center awarded Sparrow with Magnet designation by unanimous vote in December 2009. It followed a rigorous process that began in 2005 and included multiple stages of review and on-site appraisal.
Magnet designation means Sparrow Hospital is a recognized leader in quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovative professional nursing practices.
“Magnet designation is a genuine mark of excellence for our nursing program and our entire organization. We thank the whole Sparrow family for their dedication to clinical and service excellence for every patient, every time.”
— Dennis A. Swan, Sparrow President & CEO
