City of Lansing’s CSO project to impact Saginaw Street
No change of services on the Sparrow St. Lawrence Campus
Beginning March 15, motorists going eastbound on Saginaw Street between Westmoreland and Chestnut will be impacted by Lansing’s ongoing Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Project. Despite the construction, which will last until November and cause lane closures and occasional detours, access to the Sparrow St. Lawrence Campus Emergency Department and the Sparrow St. Lawrence outpatient building will remain available at all times during this project.
Beginning mid-July, major work will occur at the intersection of Saginaw and Martin Luther King (MLK). One lane will remain open on eastbound Saginaw, but north and southbound traffic on MLK will be detoured. During this phase, work will occur into the late evening hours in order to complete the work on this section by Labor Day.
During the project, drivers are urged to heed directional signage and seek alternate routes. There may be significant traffic congestion during the first week or two of the project start, particularly during high traffic periods in the morning and late afternoon. Please allow extra time when traveling to and from the St. Lawrence campus. If you have any questions, please call 517.364.2396.
