|

Audiogram: |
A test to see how well you may hear during the AEP |

Click: |
The sound that comes through the earphones |
|
Deep breathing: |
During one section of the test you will be asked to breathe deeply in and out for about 3 minutes. |

Earphones: |
Like stereo headphones - used to introduce clicking sound. |
|
EEG: |
Abbreviation for Electroencephalogram - Electro (electric) encephalo
(brain) gram (graph). A recording or graph generated by electricity in the brain. |
|
Electrode: |
Small gold disc with wire attached. The disc is applied to your scalp to pick up the electrical signals from your brain. |
|
Montage ("Run"): |
One of 5 or 6 electrode combinations used during the test. These are selected by switches on the EEG machine. |
|
Relax: |
Get comfortable or to go limp - arms, legs, shoulders, mouth, neck and forehead - relaxed as if you were sound asleep. |

Strobe light: |
Flashing light used during one section of the EEG test. |
