Thursday, October 10, 2013 - Sparrow, Mayo Clinic experts to answer breast cancer questions during Oct. 15 public forum

In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the public is invited to hear from Sparrow and Mayo Clinic experts about advances in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer, followed by a chance to ask questions.

The free event will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 55 South Harrison Avenue, East Lansing.


Sandhya Pruthi, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, Mayo Clinic. Dr. Pruthi is the Mayo Clinic principal investigator on several national breast cancer prevention and biomarker trials, and her research area is breast cancer prevention.

Karen Ching, M.D., Breast Surgeon and Medical Director, Sparrow Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic.

Timothy McKenna, D.O., Breast Surgeon, Sparrow Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic.

Vesna Kaluza, M.D., Medical Oncologist and Hematologist, Sparrow Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Clinic.

The event will be moderated by Sparrow Breast Health Navigator Sharon Cosgrove.
