Kayla Schaaf, a Clinical Registered Nurse at University of Michigan Health at Sparrow Children’s Center, goes above and beyond to make sure our youngest patients get the care they need in a safe and supportive environment.
“For nearly 28 years here at Sparrow, I have enjoyed taking care of children,” said Kayla, who works in the Pediatric Subspecialty Clinic. “I just like to be that caring, bright spot in their day.”
Kayla does whatever it takes to provide compassionate care for patients, even arranging transportation for a patient who did not have a ride home from an appointment on a bitterly cold day. That’s one reason Kayla is this month’s Caregiver Spotlight.
