Thursday, May 16, 2013 - Time to Get Movin’ with the Sparrow Michigan Mile

Another school year is winding down and with summer just around the corner it must mean it’s time to Get Movin’ with the Sparrow Michigan Mile, a one-mile run and great day of fun for kids 13 and under.

Festivities kick off at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, at Cooley Law School Stadium, home of the Lansing Lugnuts. Sponsored by Sparrow, the fun and non-competitive event includes a one-mile course for children 13 and younger and a shorter course (the KIDSPRINT) inside the stadium for those 6 and under.

Children run with their own age group and all participants receive a T-shirt and finishers get a shiny gold medal.

Early registration is $7 until May 17 and $12 May 18-29. Save time and money by registering now at sparrow.org/michiganmile. Registration will be available for $18 on race day.

The Sparrow Michigan Mile is the capstone for the Feelin’ Good Mileage Club, a free elementary school program that rewards students for walking and running at school. Nearly 18,000 K-6 students from 110 schools in eight counties are participating in this year’s program, and are well on their way to a healthy future.
