This group of nurses float to all adult acute care critical care units. Excellent clinical and organizational skills are needed as the nurse may work in a different unit every day.
Unit Based Council Description
The Float Team Unit Based Council is comprised of nurses, patient care technicians, health unit coordinators, and patient safety sitter Associates. This group is lead
by the Chair and Co-Chair to address issues that affect them as a group. They make goals at the beginning of the year and work throughout the year to accomplish those goals.
They also meet with other Unit Based Councils working together to address issues that have been identified. They have been successful in working on reports on units, working
with supervision about float assignments, and revising orientation checklists, among other things. This group strives to address things that affect their practice and the practice of
others throughout the organization.
