The 18-bed unit takes care of less critical neurologic patients; transfers from the Neuro Intensive Care Unit; transfers from the Stroke Unit; anterior cervical fusion
surgeries; major back surgeries; post critical care multiple trauma patients.
Unit Based Council Description
NSDU is led by Tammy Parsons. Our Unit Based Council has become a major decision making force. They have worked on scheduling issues, holidays, stocking and unit celebrations. The nurse/physician
relationship and RN relationship satisfaction is another important project. The UBC has been working to improve on discharge and transfer times
as well as working diligently on patient satisfaction to keep our unit rankings high.
