This 12-bed unit provides care for patients with neurologic problems including closed head injuries, pre- and
post-operative craniotomies for brain tumors, aneurysms and ventriculoperitoneal shunts. Designated Intensive Care Unit for trauma patients from Level I Trauma Center.
Patient mix of 50% trauma and 50% neuro.
Unit Based Council Description
The NICU UBC is led by Becky Hayes and Deb Anderson. Our Unit Based Council has become a major decision making force. They have worked
on scheduling issues, holidays, stocking and unit celebrations. The nurse/physician relationship and RN relationship satisfaction is
another important project. The UBC has been working to improve on discharge and transfer times as well as working diligently on
patient satisfaction to keep our unit rankings high.
