Outpatient Care Unit (OPCU)

This unit provides pre-operative and post-operative care for adult surgical patients in an outpatient setting at the Sparrow Campus. Patients are prepared for surgery or procedures and outpatients are discharged from the department. The OPCU also handles pre-admissions for all adult outpatients and same-day surgical patients. The average length of stay is 6-7 hours. There are approximately 60 surgical and 5 medical procedure patients seen daily.
