Sparrow Nurses are the heart and soul of what we do; the very core of our compassionate, loving care. And while every single associate drives our mission of improving the health of the people we serve, it is most often the nurse who stands out as the embodiment of our vision. It is the nurse who is remembered.
As part of the Sparrow team, your contributions will help assure the continuation of our long tradition of quality care. You are needed here. You are wanted here. And you will be respected here.
You’ll find a role that is uniquely your own. Nursing opportunities within Sparrow are as diverse as the individuals who fill each position. We are a teaching hospital and the regional referral center for cancer, trauma, pediatrics, orthopedics, neonatal intensive care and neurological care, which gives you options you won’t find in smaller facilities. Whether you choose to specialize in one narrow niche or experience the gamut of roles available, we’ll help you find the position that fulfills you.
Under the Sparrow umbrella, you’re not limited to a position within the walls of Sparrow Hospital. Sparrow Specialty Hospital, also in Lansing, is a long-term acute care hospital that is designed for medically complex and critically ill patients who require a longer hospitalization. Our multidisciplinary team approach benefits patients with multiple and serious medical conditions. Staff members from a broad spectrum of services get involved in the patient’s treatment. Services at Sparrow Specialty Hospital include, but are not limited to, integrative services; occupational therapy; IV services; physical therapy; respiratory therapy; speech therapy; nutritional services; dialysis; lymphedema therapy; ventilator support; and a specialized wound care team. Our nurses also make thousands of home health visits each year. Or you may choose to practice within one of many other health care services provided through the System.
Thanks to the efforts of our nursing staff and leadership team, in December 2009 we were awarded Magnet Hospital Designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation reflects nursing excellence and a high degree of nurse satisfaction.
Sparrow is committed to providing our nurses with the resources necessary to accomplish superior outcomes for our patients. Our Model of Nursing Care gives you not just the responsibility, but also the authority to oversee your patient’s coordination of care.
Whether you are a new graduate or an experienced clinician, Sparrow can help you fulfill your professional goals. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our patients.
