Residents are encouraged and supported in scholarly
work. Each resident must complete at least one scholarly project during
his or her training. Resident mentors for the scholarly projects
include the clinical and Ph.D. faculty from Michigan State University's
Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology, as well
as community faculty members. Senior residents are encouraged to
present annually in the Michigan Section of the American College of
Obstetricians and Gynecologists' Junior Fellow Research Day, along with
residents and fellows from across Michigan training sites. All available
residents are released from their clinical responsibilities to attend
regional research forums.
