Anesthesiologist

Dr. Nair earned his medical degree from Northeastern Ohio University's College of Medicine and is board certified in Anesthesiology.

After completing his surgical internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, Calif., he served with the First Marine Division as General Medical Officer, which included a tour of duty in Operation Desert Storm. After leaving the Navy, he completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor.

Immediately after residency, he worked as an attending anesthesiologist and faculty member at the University of Michigan. He then moved to Flint, where he joined a private practice anesthesia group at McLaren Regional Medical Center. During his anesthesia practice in Flint, Dr. Nair provided operating room-based anesthesia services, including anesthesia for cardiac, neuro, and pediatric surgery. After five years in private practice, he developed an interest in pain medicine, prompting him to return to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in the Department of Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Nair has been with Sparrow Hospital and the Sparrow Pain Management Center since 2005.
