Dr. Riessinger completed graduate training in psychology at Michigan State University, and undergraduate training at University of Cincinnati. She completed psychology internships at the University Pain Control Center & Cincinnati Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and at the Battle Creek Veterans Administration Hospital. She is a fully licensed clinical psychologist with certification from the American Board of Forensic Medicine, American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians, American Board of Disability Analysts, and American Board of Forensic Examiners. Dr. Riessinger has worked in pain management since 1989. She has been with the Sparrow Regional Pain Management Center since 1991. She has been active in the education of community and professional groups on chronic pain issues, including seminars on the treatment of chronic pain, psychological impact of chronic pain, connection between chronic pain and sleep quality, biofeedback and relaxation techniques, sleep disorders and fibromyalgia, stress management, and headache. She has formed support groups for chronic pain sufferers.
