Amniocentesis
Amniocentesis is offered as early as 11 weeks gestation for early prenatal diagnosis and throughout pregnancy as indicated for diagnostic and
therapeutic purposes. The physician will discuss risks, benefits and alternatives prior to the procedure.
Preconceptional Counseling
Counseling is often advisable when patients have complicated obstetrical or medical histories.
Extensive Ultrasounds
Extensive ultrasounds are performed Wednesdays and Fridays. Typically 10 ultrasounds are scheduled each day. Using
state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. Dr. Roth uses his 10 years of experience to evaluate fetuses at risk for or suspected to have abnormalities on screening ultrasound.
Patients are counseled regarding the ultrasound findings and the clinical correlation. Follow-up ultrasound, procedures, laboratory testing and
consultations are arranged. Suggested timing for ultrasound procedures include: 10-13 weeks for nuchal translucencies, early
amniocentesis, and to rule out anencephaly; 16 weeks for routine amniocentesis; and 18-20 weeks for detailed anatomy evaluation. Timing is
critical. Follow-up evaluation of fetal anatomy should be done soon after suspected anomalies are found.
