Basic Spirometry

Objectives:
- Assess the Forced Vital Capacity and all Forced Expiratory Volumes as compared with recognized normal values for height, weight, race, age and sex.
- Basic indication of Obstructive or Restrictive lung disease
- Ordering testing with the Pre and Post Bronchodilator studies option, affords a good indication on reversibility of any obstructive contribution from bronchospasm.
Entry level assessment:
- pulmonary screening
- baseline volumetric testing
Forced Vital Capacities and all timed Forced Expiratory Volumes:
- FVC
- FEV1
- FEF 25-75
- Peak Flow
May be ordered as Pre and Post Bronchodilator for basic reversibility studies.
