Ultrasound

Sparrow Health System's Ultrasound Department provides 24 hour service. Staffed by Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) and Registered Vascular Technologists (RVT), the department performs exams in an outpatient setting at the following locations:

• Sparrow Professional Building (Monday through Friday)
• Sparrow Ramblewood Imaging Center
• Sparrow Hospital (7 days a week)
• Clinton Memorial Hospital

The department is accreditated by the American College of Radiology (ACR).

Ultrasound Services: Abdomen Ultrasound Carotid Ultrasound Pelvic (Non-OB) Ultrasound Prenatal Ultrasound Prostate Ultrasound Renal Ultrasound Scrotal Ultrasound Thyroid Ultrasound Venous (Arms) Ultrasound Venous (Legs) Ultrasound

Services provided include general ultrasound exams (abdomen, renal, breast, neonate neurosonography and thyroid), OB-GYN ultrasound exams, vascular studies and US guided invasive procedures. Sparrow Ultrasound is intimately related to the Sparrow Perinatal Center which provides high-risk Obstetic services under the direction of a board certified Perinatologist.

Outpatient exams are scheduled through Sparrow central scheduling. Emergency Department and In-patient exams are performed as they are ordered.

Interpretation of these diverse exams is shared by specialists in each area. Radiology, Vascular surgery, Perinatology and Pediatric Cardiology work together to provide expertise in the interpretation of exams.

Routine Ultrasound exams may be scheduled through central scheduling 517.364.3659 by physician offices. Early AM, evening and weekend appointments are available for your convenience. Same day service is available in emergent situations. Invasive procedures need pre approval by a Radiologist and are scheduled on an individual basis.
