Sparrow named "High-Performing" by U.S. News & World Report

Sparrow is proudly named among the Best Hospitals in Southeastern Michigan and designated "high-performing" in nine specialty areas, according to the U.S. News & World Report of Best Hospitals for 2012-2013. Michigan Quality Council’s 2012 Quality Leadership Award

Sparrow Hospital earned the Michigan Quality Council’s 2012 Quality Leadership Award. This is the highest honor for organizational performance excellence in Michigan, and Sparrow Hospital is only the eighth hospital to earn this recognition. The MQC’s Leadership award program is modeled after the national Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.

Studer Health Care Organization of the Month

Sparrow Emergency Department was honored by the Studer Group, a distinguished healthcare consulting firm, as national Health Care Organization of the Month for October 2011 for achievement, improvement and overall performance.

Accountable Care Collaborative

Sparrow is among leading health systems nationwide who have joined the Accountable Care Organization Readiness Collaborative to improve community health. Sparrow will help implement reforms that promise high-quality, patient centered care.

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)’s Nurse Magnet Distinction

Sparrow Hospital has earned the nation’s most prestigious honor for nursing achievement and excellence – recognition as a Magnet Hospital by the ANCC. Considered the “gold standard” for nursing care in hospitals, Magnet status is held by only about 6 percent of hospitals nationwide.

Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence

Sparrow, in partnership with the Michigan State University Department of Surgery, is recognized by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for having a demonstrated track record of favorable outcomes in bariatric weight loss surgery.

Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care

Sparrow Hospital has been designated as a Cardiac Center of Excellence by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM) and a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Surgery by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA).

Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement

Sparrow Hospital has been designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Knee and Hip Replacement by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM).

Occupational Health Top Provider

Sparrow Occupational Health has been designated a top provider by a leading national network of clinics based on a variety of factors, such as feedback from patients and record-keeping.

Patient-Centered Medical Homes

Dozens of Sparrow-affiliated physicians have been selected as Patient-Centered Medical Home practices by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). The physicians are recognized for using a team approach focusing on prevention and the partnership between a patient and their doctor.
