Depending on your needs, an orthotist will fabricate devices (orthoses) to stabilize the weakened part of
the body, assist or limit certain motions for the joints, and help prevent future deformities of the body.
The prosthetist will fabricate an artificial limb (prosthesis). Your physician will order these special
devices upon the recommendation of the Rehabilitation Team. Repairs and modifications on your present
orthosis or prosthesis can be done if necessary.
