He developed the occupational rehabilitation program at Sparrow Outpatient Rehabilitation in 1993 since
joining Sparrow that year. Mr. Lilley has worked closely with various physicians, health professionals,
rehabilitation/vocational specialists, and attorneys and clients toward assessing injured workers capacities
and maximizing their abilities.
He has conducted seminars to the Lansing Chamber of Commerce, East Side
Commercial Club on ergonomic topics and preventing injuries. He has also written articles on carpal tunnel
syndrome and office ergonomics for the House Calls section in the Lansing State Journal and article on Work
Capacity Evaluation for the Michigan Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining Sparrow Health System in 1993, Mr. Lilley served as project manager for NATLSCO, a large loss
control subsidiary of Kemper National in Long Grove, IL, and helped to develop and implement a comprehensive
ergonomics program for two large meatpacking companies in the Midwest to help them abate OSHA citations for
repetitive motion injuries/exposures. Mr. Lilley has performed extensive ergonomic evaluations during his work
as an ergonomics consultant for NATLSCO and since he joined Sparrow. He has also worked as a staff occupational
therapist for STEPS Rehabilitation Program in the industrial rehabilitation program from 1992-1993 before moving
back to his home state of Michigan. He has kept active in attending continuing education courses for industrial
rehabilitation and ergonomics at large national ergonomic courses throughout the United States.
