This free program conducted by Child Life specialists is for children age 3 and older who are scheduled for surgery at Sparrow. Surgery orientation is designed to familiarize young patients and their parents with the hospital and decrease anxiety associated with an upcoming surgery.
The orientation includes:
- Tour of a surgical suite
- Medical play
- Question and answer period
- Refreshments
- Goodie bags
Orientation is offered twice a month:
- The first Sunday of every month, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
- The third Wednesday of every month, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

When you arrive for orientation, please meet at the Information Desk at the main entrance to the hospital.
