Outpatient Care Unit:
The Outpatient Care Unit provides care for patients having outpatient surgery, outpatient procedures as well as preparing patients for surgery on the day of admission. Care is provided for outpatients 18 years of age and older before and after surgery and procedures such as angiogram cardiac catheterization, myelogram and sedation for MRI and other diagnostic procedures. A medical history and testing is obtained, and instructions are given to patients pre-operatively. Patients being admitted following surgery also receive pre-operative care in this unit.
Observation Unit:
The Observation/Transition Unit, located on 3 South, is a 14 bed telemetry unit designed to provide care for adult (18 years of age and beyond) patients to be treated and released within a 24-hour period. Nursing care is provided by a team of registered nurses and patient care technicians who work collaboratively with physicians to provide care specific to the patients needs. The highest patient population is low risk rule out miocardial infarction (heart attack - R/O MI). The R/O MI patients comprise approximately 39% of the total census. Patients with a variety of diagnoses are also treated in this unit.
Visiting Hours:
8 a.m. - 8 p.m. One (1) adult visitor at the bedside is recommended. Children under 12 years of age may wait in the designated waiting area.
