College Student Physical Therapy Volunteer Program

Sparrow's Rehabilitation Services Volunteer Program is designed to provide exposure to rehabilitative professions. The program is geared toward those interested in pursuing a career in rehabilitation, and are required to have volunteered in a program prior to admission into a Therapy program.

Quick Links:

Our volunteer experience will include reviewing patient histories/current conditions with a therapist, observing treatment sessions and assisting with patient treatments as specifically directed by the therapist. Volunteer observation will be specifiic to each rehabilitative discipline. Volunteers will not be permitted to physically assist patients secondary to liability issues.

All student volunteers must attend a two hour volunteer orientation in the Rehabilitation department prior to spending any time in Adult Inpatient Therapy, Adult Outpatient Therapy or Pediatric Rehabilitation. To qualify for the Rehabilitation Volunteer Program, students must have completed high school and be interested in pursuing a career in a Rehabilitation related field.

If you are interested in participating in the Rehabilitation Volunteer Program, please call 517.364.2786.
