Verne's Story

I have lost almost 100 pounds, went down 8 pant sizes, from a 46 to 32, went from a 3X shirt to a medium or large, I can bend over and tie my shoes and fit into any booth at restaurants!

My success is largely the effort of the Sparrow Weight Management team, my support people and of course my hard work. Prior to my decision to have weight loss surgery, I did extensive research, visited other centers and decided the gastric bypass procedure was for me. I anticipated a few bumps in the road after surgery but really have had 8 months of smooth sailing. I have done everything I was suppose to and feel great. I have not been sick or had any "dumping".

The Sparrow team does an excellent job teaching what to do and not to do. I have gone from 9 pills a day to 4 pills a day, my cholesterol is better than an 18 year olds, and I do not need my CPAP machine.

The support group I attend on Thursday nights have kept me focused and in touch with my new friends from the center.

I have only one regret, why didn't I do this 20 years ago??
