Reiki
Reiki, pronounces ray-key, is a powerful healing system that restores and balances the natural life force within the body. It touches individuals on all levels: body, mind, and spirit.
Uses/Research Base: Reiki is used to help the body heal itself of such things as, serious illness, sports
injuries, cuts, burns, internal diseases, emotional disorders, and stress-related illnesses. Reiki is a complete system in itself or it can be
used to maximize or compliment other forms of healing. It is not a massage technique. A treatment involves the placing of the practitioners' hands on
the recipients' body in a passive way. Recipients remain clothed and often feel gentle warmth or tingling coming from the practitioners hands.
Scientific studies are yet to be conducted to evaluate the effects of this therapy.
