Diapering
- For girls, gently wipe the genital area from front to back. She may have a white mucous or blood tinged fluid from
her vagina in the first few days. This is normal and is called psuedomenses.
- For boys, gently wash the penis. (For care of the circumcised or uncircumcised baby, see Cord & Circumcision Care.
- There is no need to use powders, as the baby may breathe the powder into his/her lungs.
