About Cathy Hallead
While many girls her age were reading Nancy Drew and other stories, Cathy Hallead was busy following the nursing adventures of Cherry Ames.

"I've wanted to be a nurse for as long as I can remember," said Hallead, who began her career at Sparrow Clinton Hospital as a registered nurse in 1971 and worked her way up to Vice President of Patient Care Services. "We're such a small community in St. Johns so the care always needs to be Patient-centered."

It's that small town feel and commitment to keeping the community health that has kept Hallead at Sparrow Clinton Hospital for more than 40 years. "When I started, I figured I'd be here six months," she said. "But there's something about the family atmosphere we have here. We all look out for each other and chip in to help make this hospital welcoming, inviting, and safe for our Patients."
