Thursday, August 22, 2013 - Shirley Stephenson named Volunteer of the Month for August

Shirley Stephenson of Lansing has been name the Sparrow August Volunteer of the month by the Sparrow Women’s Board of Managers and the Sparrow Volunteer Services Department.

Stephenson spent 20 years managing a family physician’s practice, and then another 20 years at Sparrow in Human Resources. It only took three months of retirement before she was back at Sparrow as a Volunteer!

She has served as the Administrator for the Sparrow Child Care Center for the last nine years and is a member of the Angelus League, making stuffed animals for pediatric patients, walker bags, and more.

As is typical, Stephenson denies doing anything special. Her time and her talents, however, are very special to Sparrow.
