Monday, February 10, 2014 - Free Sparrow and HGB community event promotes heart health

Sparrow and Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital are hosting an interactive heart health event featuring free blood pressure and BMI (body mass index) checks as part of American Heart Month.

The free event is 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, at AL!VE, 800 W. Lawrence Ave., Charlotte.

The heart health program features a presentation by a panel of local physician experts, as well as education on stress management, healthy eating, and the importance of knowing your health numbers.

The physician panel presentation begins at 1:45 p.m. and will feature information about heart disease prevention, as well as its signs and symptoms, cholesterol, and peripheral vascular disease. The presenting physicians are:

  • Brian Bowditch, M.D., HGB Chief of Emergency
  • Dale Leffler, D.O., FACC, Sparrow Vascular Lab Director
  • Richard Pinke, D.O., FACC, HGB Chief of Medicine
  • Seneca Storm, M.D., AL!VE Medical Director

There is no cost to attend and registration is not required. All mid-Michigan community members are invited. For information, call 517.541.5811.
