You may call our UM Health-Sparrow Help Desk at 517-364-4357.

When can I see my test results in MySparrow?

Your test results are released to your MySparrow account after your physician has reviewed them and/or the results have been finalized. To serve you better, UM Health-Sparrow is now displaying most laboratory test results in MySparrow as soon as they have been finalized. Imaging (i.e. CAT Scan, Mammography, MRI, X-Ray, etc.) and Pathology results are displayed in MySparrow 3 business days after they are finalized and will include a narrative report, not actual images. While UM Health-Sparrow team members check results frequently, you could see new results before your provider has seen them. Please be assured that your provider's office will reach back to you within a few days about the test results if any additional tests or treatments are required before you next visit.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MySparrow?

UM Health-Sparrow’s Physician Advisory Board determines which types of test results can be automatically shared through MySparrow. Further, tests of a very sensitive nature are not released intentionally to MySparrow. If you believe that a test is missing from MySparrow, please send us an IT-Customer Service question about this exam for more information.

If some of my health information on MySparrow is not correct, what should I do?

Your MySparrow information comes directly from your electronic medical record documented here at UM Health-Sparrow. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

If your primary physician does not practice with UM Health-Sparrow, please bring a copy of your most recent health information to your next visit to update any inaccurate information.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note that MySparrow should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your medical center if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.

How can I share my medical information with a non-UM Health-Sparrow physician?

You can share certain elements of your medical record with a non-UM Health-Sparrow provider by requesting a unique one time Share Everywhere code.  To request a code for your physician, login to your MySparrow account and click on the “Share Everywhere” activity in your menu.

Once you generate a unique code, share this with your physician who can access your record by navigating to the Share Everywhere platform.

Can I view a family member's health record in MySparrow?

Yes. This is called Proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal MySparrow account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form in office or submit online (Health > Request Family Access), to request access for another adult to access this convenient service. If you need access to a minor or adolescent’s record, please contact your office directly for more information.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MySparrow account?

MySparrow offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.

Can my spouse and I share one MySparrow account?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must sign and submit a Release of Information request and establish their own MySparrow account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may contact our UM Health-Sparrow Help Desk at 517-364-4357 to request a new, secure password. You may also click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new activation code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

Contact our UM Health-Sparrow Help Desk team at 517-364-4357 to gain access to your MySparrow account, or patients over the age of 18 can also submit an Online Request Here.

Where can I update my personal information (e.g., home address, e-mail or change my password)?

Log into MySparrow and from the top menu, go to the Settings section and select the appropriate option. (e.g. Update Demographics, Security Settings)

How is MySparrow secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account cannot be accessed without that password. Unlike conventional e-mail, all MySparrow messaging is done while you are securely logged on to our website.

What is your Privacy Policy?

MySparrow is owned and operated by UM Health-Sparrow and is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to your privacy. Your name and e-mail address will be treated with the same care and privacy given your health records and will never be sold or leased by MySparrow.

I was logged out of MySparrow, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MySparrow, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MySparrow. We recommend that you log out of your MySparrow session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MySparrow?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Google Chrome).

My activation code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your activation code expires after 60 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. Patients over the age of 18 can submit an Online Request here. If you still have problems you can call our UM Health-Sparrow Help Desk at 517-364-4357.
