Join Jennifer Lopez, Coach Mark Dantonio and others to “put your money where the miracles are” by marking the calendar for Friday, May 29, the start of the 27th Annual Sparrow Children’s Center Telethon.
The annual Telethon will be broadcast in the mid-Michigan region from 8-11:30 p.m. on Friday, May 29 and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 on WILX TV 10. Funds raised will benefit Sparrow Children’s Center, the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital®.
Marie Osmond and John Schneider, co-founders of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®, will host the Telethon. Other national celebrities including Dr. Oz, Dr. Phil McGraw, Meredith Vieira, Rachel Ray, Nancy O’Dell, Deborah Norville, Kevin Frazier, The Doctors: Dr. Travis Stork, Dr. Jim Sears, and Jennifer Lopez will join Osmond and Schneider during the broadcast.
Local hosts will include MSU Football Coach Mark Dantonio, most of the WILX anchors and reporters, Sparrow Vice President of Development and Strategic Partners Stella Cash, and MSU FCU President & CEO April Clobes.
"Since 1983, the Telethon has effectively illustrated the critical part children's hospitals play in every community, and their dependence on donations," said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "Through stories of inspiring Miracle Children, we hope viewers learn that when you Put Your Money Where the Miracles Are, you make a positive and lasting impact on local kids."
Since 1988, the Sparrow Children’s Center, in affiliation with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, has partnered with WILX TV-10 to air the annual Telethon, raising funds to aid in the advancement of services and care for children in Mid-Michigan.
Last year, the Sparrow Children's Center raised more than $1,011,714 through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. As of today, more than $20 million has been donated through the generosity of the Mid-Michigan region. Thanks to the support of people like you, miracles are happening every day here at Sparrow.
