Bishop Earl Boyea performs gravesite service Monday providing dignity to unclaimed remains from Sparrow

What: Bishop Earl Boyea of the Catholic Diocese of Lansing will perform a gravesite committal ceremony for the remains of some 60 individuals (36 adults, 24 infants) unclaimed from Sparrow’s Forensic Pathology Unit and other sources. The ceremony is intended to provide dignity and a final resting place for those not claimed by their families. The event is on All Soul’s Day, set aside to honor our beloved dead. Bishop Boyea and Sparrow caregivers will be available for interviews.

Where: St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 2520 W. Willow, Lansing.

When: Monday, Nov. 2, 2:30 p.m. Rosary, 3 p.m. interment ceremony
