The Carson Foundation has awarded life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to a local alternative high school as part of the Foundation’s continuing community improvement efforts.

Carson City-Crystal Alternative Academy received AEDs as part of a grant request to the Foundation.

The Carson City-Crystal Alternative Academy is located 10 miles northwest of Sparrow Carson Hospital and offers a personalized high school completion program servicing grades 9-12, as well as adult education classes.

“A sudden cardiac arrest could occur at any time. Providing AED equipment to school districts is something the Carson Foundation can do to help them prepare for this kind of emergency,” said Shelly Weaver, Carson Foundation Executive Director.

The Carson Foundation has purchased AEDs for other local schools as well, including Carson City-Crystal, Central Montcalm, Fellow Baptist Academy, Fulton, Ithaca, and Vestaburg. The Carson Foundation is dedicated to keeping healthcare services local so they are available when truly needed.
