Carson Foundation provides AED equipment to local schools

Published: April 18, 2016

The Carson Foundation has awarded life-saving Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to local school districts as part of the organization’s continuing community improvement efforts.

Vestaburg Community Schools and Central Montcalm Elementary School received AEDs as part of grant requests to the Foundation.

“A sudden cardiac arrest could occur at any time. Providing AED equipment to these two school districts is something the Carson Foundation can do to help them prepare for this kind of emergency,” said Shelly Weaver, Carson Foundation Executive Director.

Vestaburg plans to use the AED at its school, along with outside athletic events. Central Montcalm requested two AEDs in order to provide adequate coverage for its entire elementary school.

The Carson Foundation has purchased AEDs for other local schools as well, including Carson City-Crystal, Fellow Baptist Academy, Fulton, and Ithaca. The Carson Foundation is dedicated to keeping health care services local so they are available when truly needed.
